Amateur strength wods

Postby Blackbunny » Tue Apr 20, 2010 2:57 pm

OK, I have trained regular Crossfit for about 3 years. Been doing Cffb For a while now. I was wondering under optimal conditions. How long is it possible to progress with the amateur swod? Are we talking 2-3 months or 8 to 12?
Cause I'm feeling progress is stalling.I'm have big problems adding, the correct amount of lbs to my deadlift, squat, military press, bench is still fine with the 5lbs a week. Should we do deloading phases and such? So we can keep doing linear increases with the amateur programming?
Really need some help here!

Hi Alex,

That's really a question for yourself. I personally stayed on the amateur swods for about 3.5 months before switching mainly due to recovery issues. I did deload on the Press and Squat, but I changed mainly because of the fact I wasn't recovering by Thursday to add more weight. I like the cswod's a lot and will be there for a long time I'm sure. I've been lifting for awhile before hand so my time on the aswod may be shorter then others.

Well , I did a deload phase, but I ended up hitting about the same wall. A little higher this time though. I'm doing a 10% deload now, and starting up with the collegiate program. I just barely did 3x5 at 286 lbs, so I went down to 264 for the 5x5.
If I'm doing something horribly wrong, tell me:D
